Dr. Aili Low

Associate Professor Aili Low, MD, PhD works with esthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery plus general surgery at Skåne Cares associated hospital Art Clinic. She is a Senior Consultant in plastic surgery and general surgery and an associated professor in plastic surgery.

Dr Low started her training at Bonn University Hospital in Germany where she earned a substantial education in general surgery as well as in pediatric surgery, trauma surgery and liver transplantation aurgery. In 1994 she got her Medial Doctoral Degree from Bonn University.

After finishing her specialist training in Germany, Dr Low moved to Texas and worked with burn wounded patients at world famous Shriners Hospital for Children in Galveston. After two years she moved back to Germany to a position within the Plastic Surgery department at Aachen University Hospital. In 2003, she moved to Sweden, and Uppsala University Hospital, to start her position as a Senior Consultant in Plastic Surgery.

Dr Low had the main responsibility to treat burn wounded patients with acute and   reconstructive surgery and was also responsible for the county council of Uppsala’s surgical interventions for patients with Malign Melanoma. In 2008 she earned her second Medical Doctoral Degree in Plastic Surgery, as the first woman ever, at Uppsala University.

During 2012-2014 Dr Low was responsible for the county of Uppsala’s plastic surgery for patients after bariatric surgery.

Dr love is an expert on the panel for the scientific journal, Burns and an educational mentor at Uppsala University.
